The Quindon Maurice Hill was being pursued by the PA State Probation and Parole when Manheim Township officers nabbed him following a brief foot chase at the Sheetz at 1790 of Millersville Road on Tuesday, Dec. 6 around 12:32 p.m., according to a release by Township police.

The following is a statement released by the police on Tuesday, Dec. 13 about the incident:

"Hill was located inside the store and told he was not free to leave. He attempted to exit the store and was told there were warrants for his arrest. Hill began to retreat away from officers. As officers attempted to gain control of Hill, he fled the store. Police chased Hill on foot to Wabank Rd. Warnings were given to Hill to stop running, which were ignored. Hill lost his balance and fell onto the road. He got up and continued to run. At this point, police noticed a handgun in Hill's waistband. He was clutching at it as he ran. Hill was tasered, fell to the ground, and the gun fell onto the road. After the taser shut off, Hill got back up and tried to keep running. He was tasered a second time and fell again. Several officers attempted to gain control of Hill. Hill pushed away at officers and a police K-9 that was engaged with him. He held his hands under his body in an attempt to avoid being handcuffed. A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The firearm that Hill dropped was a 9mm Glock 17, loaded with an extended magazine and a round in the chamber. Hill had previously been convicted of an offense that prohibited him from carrying a firearm."

He has been taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, according to an earlier release by the police.

Police say the man is now facing additional charges including "persons not to possess firearms, Firearms not to be carried without a license, Flight to avoid apprehension, Resisting Arrest, Evading arrest or detention on foot, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia," the police stated in the updated release.

He's been held in the Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $100,000 in bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Mary Mongiovi Sponaugle on Dec. 19 at 9 a.m., according to his latest court docket.

The Sheetz is across the street from Elizabeth R. Martin elementary school which was in session at the time of the chase.
